Eminem puts Drake to shame “Recovery” the biggest selling CD in first week in 2 years

Well just as we were all anticipating Drake to go platinum in his first week (only to come up just short of Gold) it was the far less promoted Eminem that set the record for the largest selling cd in the first week this year selling 745,000 copies of his cd Recovery. This also marks the biggest first week tally since AC/DC’s Black ice in 2008. Drake’s ‘Thank me later” after selling 450,000 copies in week 1 dropped to 156,000 copies this week. Miley Cyrus came in 3rd with 103,000 copies of her new CD “Can’t be tamed”

No ‘GURU’ Mention At BET Awards?

One of the BEST shows in the history of it’s running, folks are STILL yammering on about the 2010 BET Awards. And there was plenty to yammer about: Kanye opening the show with his “Moses on the mountain receiving the ten commandments” backdrop; Usher doing what he does best; Alicia Keys “BEAUTIFULLY” with child; Eminem‘s comeback performance; the COMPLETE domination of Drake & Nicki Minaj; Monica & Denise Williams reminding us what REAL vocalists sound like; Kirk Franklin & Fred Hammond bring the Holy Ghost in the midst of all that Hoe-Hoppin’; Diddy showboating as usual w/two backup singers/dancers, which he’s really trying to pass off as a “group”- Dirty Money (also joined by Rick Ross, T.I. & Nicki Minaj); Tyrese Gibson resurrecting Teddy Pendergrass; El Debarge providing us with that “blast from the past”; Trey Songz “prison raping” ‘Purple Rain‘, much to the originator’s displeasure; Chris Brown‘s PHENOMENAL tribute to Michael Jackson, followed by water works on cue; Janelle Monae, Alicia Keys & Ms. Patti La Belle‘s EXCEPTIONAL tribute to the LEGENDARY  BET Lifetime Achievement Recipient Prince; Busta Rhymes Shutting It DOWN w/DJ Khaled; and the mere fact that the show was hosted by Hip-Hop Royalty herself, Queen Latifah.

Indeed it was a memorable night. But what folks are starting to talk about now is what was omitted- GURU! With all the drama that surrounded his illness & passing, that was more than an “Oversight.” That was blatant disrespect, disregard & negligence. In addittion,  Steve McNair, Baatin, Naomi Simms, E. Lynn Harris, & DJ Mr. Magic, were also part of the forgotten. smh.

Maybe they’ll do something for the BET Hip-Hop Awards. We shall see.

Howard Stern Disrespecting Oprah & The Smith Family.

Sheesh, a Black President & successful black folks emerging may prove to be too much for many- Howard Stern included. Again, he recently attacked Oprah, claiming the “Queen Of ALL Media” kissed the asses of Will & Jada Pinkett-Smith when they interviewed on her show. He feels that the Smiths are not real and Oprah is hyping this artificial family.

Stern zeroed in on Jada saying the two have a “marriage business plan,” which he says is just a ploy to make the marriage & family seem perfect. Then he lashed out at Oprah for co-signing even though she doesn’t have a family of her own. THEN, he went on to say that Will “dumbed down” to appeal to the Hip-hop community, when he says he does whatever Jada tells him. Kick ROCKS Howard Stern, & your co-signing sell-out sidekick Robin Quivers.

“Coward” Stern needs to back off Black America’s ‘Royal Family.’ I honestly don’t think they’re posing, they’re just sharing what works for them. Get a life COWARD! Stop sweating Black folks.

Sandra & Jesse OFFICIALLY Done!

It’s A DONE DEAL: Sandra Bullock is NOW officially divorced from Jesse James. The Oscar winning actress & her bad boy biker hubby signed the divorce papers last week in Texas.

Bullock filed for divorce on April 23 a month after tabloid reports began to circulate that her husband had stepped out on her with a tattoo model. Michelle (Bombshell) McGee told InTouch magazine in March that she and James had an 11-month affair that began when Bullock was in Atlanta filming “The Blind Side.”

Now with her divorce finalized, Bullock can now complete her single parent adoption of Louis Bardo. The 5 1/2 month old boy has been living with Bullock since January.

Method Man Owes The Tax Man.

Method Man has got to pay up; the tax man, that is. Meth pleaded guilty in Staten Island Criminal Court to tax evasion charges and forked over $106,000 in restitution. Meth -aka- Clifford Smith failed to file New York State income tax returns from 2004 to 2007, & was nabbed in October ’07. He pleaded guilty to attempted tax evasion, a misdemeanor and received a conditional discharge. His lawyer, Peter Frankel, said it was unfair to call the entertainer a tax cheat. “He’s a busy guy and he had people who he thought were handling his business and they weren’t. He’s a good man. He made a mistake and he took care of it.”

In the august issue of Vanity Fair, Angelina Jolie talks openly about her six kids, giving insight into their individual personality and character quirks. The star also confirms that she’s not at all bothered by her daughter’s current tomboy style, which is inspired by her hero worship of her big brothers Maddox and Pax. Shiloh dresses “like a little dude,” notes Jolie. “Shiloh, we feel, has Montenegro style. It’s how people dress there. She likes tracksuits, she likes (regular) suits,” Angelina explains. “She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys’ everything. She thinks she’s one of the brothers.”

Uh-huh. Now I’m all for fostering “creative freedom” with the children. And I, for one, was a “tom boy” growing up. Not much has changed. lol. I Digress. Anywho, clothing is one thing. But when we start cutting hair to start allowing that child to almost live transgendered, I have a problem. If that’s what you wanna do when you become an adult & make lifelong decisions concerning your own life, fine. But when the parents are cultiivating this behavior the damage can be irrevocable. smh.
