The New York Yankees Captured yet another American league Pennant and are on their way to the World Series where they will attempt to capture their 27th World Championship.. The yankees polished off the Anaheim Angels in 6 games winning Game 6 5-2 behind Andy Pettite and of course Mariano Rivera..The Yankees will play the National League and defending World Champs Philadelpia Phillies in a epic matchup of the 2 most powerful hitting teams in baseball. The yanks hit 244 homeruns as a team this year while the phillies weren’t to shabby they hit 224..The phillies carry 4 players that had over 30 homeruns Ryan Howard,Chase Utley,Jason Werth and Raul Ibanez. They have the swagger of a World champ and they carry a chip on their shoulder especially when it comes to New York “To me they are no different then the mets. I don’t like New York period” said a player from the phils. When asked at the celebration of winning the pennant who they wanted to face all 3 stars of the phillies Rollins,Howard and Utley all said they Yankees. ” I want a shot at “Mr Baseball” Jimmy Rollins said sarcastically referring of course to Derek Jeter. The Yankees have the aura of just being the Yankees the most glorified franchise in sports. The phillies however are the world champs and they are not intimidated by the yankees the way the Minnesota Twins and suprisingly the Anaheim Angels were. The phillies won’t be afraid to fall behind the Yanks 2 or 3 runs early because they have the bats to get those runs back at any moment..
